Gameplay and rule

Game design is all about constantly improving and making changes. From the first idea to the final launch, every step needs adjustments and updates. One mentor pointed out that the first idea doesn’t have to be perfect. It’s more important to try things out and learn from mistakes. The first version is just the beginning — the real progress comes from making it better step by step. Designers need to stay open to feedback at every stage and be ready to change their approach so the final game can meet players' needs.
Based on this idea, I used it in my game design. The original rules of my board game include four types of chess pieces, and each piece can beat another following a simple cycle:

- The Elephant beats the Lion
- The Lion beats the Cat
- The Cat beats the Snake
- The Snake beats the Mouse
